The SALUT project was featured on Saint Lucia’s national TV news during the 2nd project meeting, currently taking place with local and European partners.
A key milestone of the meeting was the installation of the first weather station, which will support citizen science activities and training initiatives focused on data collection and analysis. These efforts will contribute to climate change adaptation and strengthen environmental awareness within local communities.
Watch the video below.
The first weather station was successfully installed on the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College (SALCC) rooftop. The station, a low-cost WS-2902D model, will support citizen science activities, environmental education, and climate adaptation initiatives by providing real-time local weather data.
The weather station integrates sensors for air temperature, relative humidity, atmospheric pressure, rainfall, wind speed and direction, solar radiation/light intensity, and UV radiation, enabling the collection of valuable environmental data for analysis and awareness-raising activities. This installation marks an important step towards strengthening local capacity for climate monitoring and fostering community engagement in climate resilience.

The SALUT Project organised an online training session for stakeholders and institutions from Saint Lucia on GIS fundamentals and Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI).
Consortium partners met in Saint Lucia (19–23 Jan 2026) to advance project activities and technical planning. Watch the video and read the press release.
